Free admission at the American Writers Museum February 18 and 19

The American Writers Museum in Chicago is celebrating Black History Month with a range of activities for its Family Free Weekend Sunday and Monday, February 18-19.

Take a 15-minute tour through the museum to learn about the legacy and impact of abolitionist Frederick Douglass and other Black writers. Continue your educational experience at a game of family-friendly Bingo, which focuses on the contributions of African American writers.

Explore the temporary exhibit, Dark Testament: A Century of Black Writers on Justice filled with stories about the impacts made by Black writers. This exhibit is open through Monday, May 6.

Hear diverse voices and stories at Little Squirrel Storytime and enjoy arts and crafts.

Discounts are also available on museum memberships and at the gift shop.
