
Celebrate moms, nature, and spring at Mayfest 2024 next weekend at Lakewold Gardens. This family-friendly event on Friday, May 10-Sunday, May 12 has something for everyone:
- Have a picnic.
- Stroll the gardens and enjoy the flowers in full bloom.
- Walk up to an easel and paint a flower arrangement.
- Play lawn games.
- Explore an exhibit by local Ukrainian artists.
- Create a card for your mom.
- Listen to live music.
A curator and artist talk at the Ukrainian exhibit is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m.
Live music performances include:
- Saxophonist Rob Sabado performs Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
- Two students and their mothers perform violin-piano duets at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
- Another performance by Veronica Deraleau, a soprano from Olympia, and Lark Powers, a pianist and faculty member from Pacific Lutheran University, follows the students and their moms on Sunday.
Tickets are $20 for adults; $16 for students, seniors, and military personnel with ID; $10 for ages 6-17; and free for ages five and younger. Buy tickets on Eventbrite.
