Now in its second year, the Columbia River Author Festival celebrates local writers at the Longview Public Library on Saturday, May 18. From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., hear pop-up readings, meet the authors, take your children to story time, and shop at the book fair.
This year’s featured speaker is Tove Danovich, the author of Under the Henfluence: Inside the World of Backyard Chickens and the People Who Love Them and a finalist for the 2024 Oregon Book Award in general nonfiction. Her presentation is at 1:30 p.m. in the Magazine Reading Room.
More than 45 authors from Cowlitz County and surrounding areas in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon will attend. Each author will have a table to promote and sell their books, and they can read from their work. A wide range of genres will be represented, including fiction, mystery, romance, historical fiction, poetry, non-fiction, memoir, young adult, and children’s books.
I will be there with my two latest books, Rainbows in the Snow and The Best I Can Do. If you’re in Longview that day, stop by and say hello.
The Longview Public Library’s address is 1600 Louisiana Street in Longview, Washington. Admission and parking are free. Learn more about the festival.
