West Coast attractions offering free admission to honor military personnel this weekend

Several tourist attractions on the West Coast are offering free admission to Veterans and active-duty military personnel this weekend in honor of Veterans Day.

Washington

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma offers free admission today and tomorrow for all active-duty military personnel and Veterans. Immediate family members receive a 50% discount. To redeem this offer, bring your active military/veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD214s, or any other proof of honorable US military service with you to the ticket counter at the zoo’s entrance gate. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. today and tomorrow. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is at the northern tip of Point Defiance Park, 5400 North Pearl Street, in Tacoma.

Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville offers free admission today and tomorrow for all active-duty military personnel and Veterans. Immediate family members receive a 50% discount. To redeem this offer, bring your active military/veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD214s, or any other proof of honorable US military service with you to the ticket counter at the park’s entrance. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. today and tomorrow.

Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle offers free admission today only for active and retired military personnel and their spouses. Show your military identification at the ticket counter to get this discount. Today’s hours are 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Pacific Science Center in Seattle offers free admission today to veterans for the regular exhibits and the Curiosity Day event, Engineer It. Mention this offer at the ticket counter and show your military ID for free entry. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Museum of Flight in Seattle offers free admission to veterans today only when you show your military ID. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Clark County Historical Museum in Vancouver offers free admission to active duty military personnel and their families throughout the year. Museum hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 5-9 p.m. the first Thursday of the month. Museum admission is free for everyone on the first Friday of the month, 5-9 p.m.

Oregon

The Oregon Zoo in Portland offers free admission today to veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Families of deployed military personnel also receive free admission. To receive the free admission, show a military or veteran organization ID, discharge papers, or other official military identification; families of deployed military personnel must show an active duty ID. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville offers free admission today to veterans with military ID and one guest. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

California

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park offers free admission to active and retired military personnel and one guest through November 16 and November 27-December 15. To redeem this offer, show your military ID card or DD214 card at the Knott’s Berry Farm main gate.  Hours vary daily; check the farm’s schedule here.

The Queen Mary in Long Beach offers free admission to all active and retired military personnel today. Admission includes entrance to the Ship Model Gallery and an exhibition of paintings by Winston Churchill. Discounts are also available for family members. To redeem this offer, show your valid military ID or proof of service at the box office.

The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach offers free admission to all veterans and military personnel today when you show your military ID card or proof of service at the ticket counter. Hours today are 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Battleship Iowa at the Pacific Battleship Center on the Los Angeles waterfront is hosting a Veterans Day celebration today with live music until 4 p.m., along with free admission for veterans and active military personnel today and tomorrow. Valid military ID or proof of service is required for free admission. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.

Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in Mammoth Lakes opened on Thursday, and today it’s offering veterans and active military personnel a free ski lift or ride pass. To get a free pass, show your valid military ID at any ticket booth.

All California state parks are offering free admission to veterans and active military personnel with a valid ID today only. Find a California state park near you.
