“Be the Dream” celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy January 15 at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg, OR

Be the Dream” is this year’s theme for the tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Chehalem Cultural Center. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 15, with a reception, followed by a program of ministry, music, song, and dance. Special guest speaker, Inez Peña, will share her life’s story and how Dr. King’s life and work impacted her journey.

Other appearances scheduled include:

  • Young Mariachi students, Chehalem Cultural Center
  • Ballet Folklorico, Edwards Elementary
  • Spoken Word, Israel Hammond
  • Vocal Point, Newberg High School

The Chehalem Cultural Center is located at 415 East Sheridan Street in Newberg, Oregon, 23 miles southwest of Portland.
