Martin Luther King Jr. tribute in Portland features Claudette King, BB King’s daughter

On Monday, January 15, the World Arts Foundation hosts its 33rd annual tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with local artists, musicians, speakers, and presentations of lifetime achievement awards 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Highland Center, 7600 NE Glisan Street, in Portland.

The tribute features Claudette King, daughter of the late BB King, who will perform gospel and blues songs that helped define the civil rights movement. Other special guest performers include The Legendary Beyons, Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir, and the Jefferson Dancers.

Admission is free, but a $5 donation or five non-perishable food items would be appreciated.
