You’re a scientist at a lab. An alien escaped, and now you must capture it before it’s too late.
It’s no ordinary alien. It’s taking you for a ride on a roller coaster, in a virtual reality adventure flying high above the Nevada desert and Las Vegas Strip. While you’re chasing this wily creature at 67 miles per hour, you’ll feel the real-world twists, turns, and dips from your seat in the roller coaster.
This is the new Big Apple Coaster Virtual Reality Experience at the New York-New York Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, which debuts Wednesday, February 7. The virtual reality headsets deliver life-like visuals with 3D high-resolution footage at 60 frames per second. The trains on the Big Apple Coaster are equipped with wireless sensors that synchronize the headset visuals with the twists, turns, and dips of the ride. It’s a truly immersive experience.
Rides including the headsets cost $20 per person and $15 without. Passengers must be at least 13 years old to use the headsets and 54 inches tall to ride the roller coaster.
The Big Apple Coaster, located at 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 10:30 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday. Get more information and buy tickets at The Big Apple Coaster & Arcade page.
