Be a farmer for a day on Martha’s Vineyard

Experience the farm life at The FARM Institute on Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday, February 20 by checking in and finishing chores for the animals. Activities you might do are collecting and cartoning eggs, helping plant or harvest in the garden, setting up new fences for the livestock, or working on a homesteading project.

Children may attend unaccompanied or with an adult or the entire family.

Farmer for a Day is scheduled 9 a.m.-noon, and pre-registration is required. Admission for children is $32 for Trustees members and $40 for non-members. Get more information and register.

While you’re at the Vineyard, stop at Island Alpaca Company to meet some friendly alpacas, shop items made from alpaca fleece, and go for a walk with an alpaca (with advance reservations). The farm is located at 1 Head of the Pond Road in Oak Bluffs.
