American artist Keith Lindberg’s paintings of children inspired the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony in creating an entire program focusing on “Childhood Wonder”. Join the symphony in this musical exploration on Sunday, March 3, featuring these compositions:
- The Adventures of Kid Cam The Rocketman!, by David Holsinger
- Star Wars Trilogy, by John Williams
- In Dreams, by Cait Nishimura
- Alex and the Phantom Band, by David Maslanka and narrated by special guest, Margie Boulé
The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony is a 50-member, all-volunteer group of mostly music educators that was founded in 2005. All concerts are free and open to the public. The symphony’s costs are funded 100% by donations.
The winter concert starts at 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Union High School, 6201 NW Friberg-Strunk Street in Camas, Washington. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
Arrive early to see the oil paintings for sale in the silent auction, which supports the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony. Bids are accepted in person during the winter and spring concerts.
