This peep show is appropriate for the entire family

Spring doesn’t seem like spring without those sweet marshmallow candies called Peeps®, which magically appear everywhere in time for Easter. Some love to eat them; others do not.

Peeps

Whatever your preference, you might be interested in learning that Peeps are not just a sweet treat. With a little creativity, Peeps can become amazing masterpieces worthy of their own art show.

It’s the Peep Show.

The Peep Show started 12 years ago by the Carroll County Arts Council in Westminster, Maryland. This year, it’s at the Carroll Arts Center April 12-23. More than 150 sculptures, dioramas, graphic arts, oversized characters, and mosaics created from the marshmallow treat are on display.

In the theater, watch short Peeps videos and footage of Peeps being created at the Just Born factory in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The concession stand serves Peeps-themed treats. Peeps & Co. merchandise is for sale in the lobby.

Admission to the Peep Show is free. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday. The show is open on Easter Sunday.

The last entry is 30 minutes before closing.

The Peep Show attracts thousands of visitors every day, according to the Carroll County Arts Council. If you want to see the show when it’s quieter, the arts council recommends coming on a day when the local schools are in session. It takes 45 to 90 minutes to go through all of the displays, depending on your pace.
