We need laughter now more than ever. Laughter has endless benefits, such as relieving stress, reducing pain, relaxing the muscles, increasing personal satisfaction, and improving our moods. And it boosts our immune systems. Who doesn’t need better immunity these days?
Did you know there’s a day to celebrate laughter? There is, and it’s tomorrow!
Since 1998, May 3 has been the official World Laughter Day. We can’t gather in large groups this year to celebrate, but there are many ways we can savor and share laughter. Here are a few:
- Watch some funny videos online.
- Watch a movie that makes you laugh.
- Call or set up a stream with friends or family and laugh together.
- Laugh for no reason.
- Go to laughter yoga (virtually, that is). Here’s a free virtual laughter yoga marathon that starts at midnight Pacific time and ends at 8 p.m.
