The Magenta Theater in Vancouver, Washington, is celebrating Cinco de Mayo by launching its first virtual production—an original interpretation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest titled Cinco de Earnest.
Directed by Sarah Coombs and edited by Joe Coombs, Cinco de Earnest features clips ranging from one to five minutes, filmed by the Magenta Theater’s concessions volunteers, box office personnel, directors, actors, ushers and a variety of whimsical, nonsensical characters at their homes. “It won’t win any Oscars (LOL…get it?) but it will make you smile, laugh and maybe giggle,” according to an announcement about the play on the Magenta Theater’s website.
Stream Cinco de Earnest starting Tuesday, May 5, from the Magenta Theater’s YouTube page or the home page on its website. On YouTube, the video will be designated as “featured content” to make it easy to find.
Streaming Cindo de Earnest is free. Donations are appreciated.
