In Boston, no July 4 celebration is complete without the Boston Pops’ annual concert at the Hatch Shell and colorful fireworks bursting above the Charles River. Sadly, this year’s event is cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

But all is not lost. The show will go on through the airwaves and cyberspace. The Boston Pops will host A Boston Pops Salute to Our Heroes, featuring newly created content from the Boston Pops and guest artists, and highlights from broadcasts of past fireworks spectaculars.

A Boston Pops Salute to Our Heroes will air on Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, and Boston’s WHDH-TV, on Saturday, July 4, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time, 5 p.m. Pacific.
