On a clear, sunny day in Western Washington, the cliche, “breathtaking views”, is definitely appropriate. Add some fall color, and these views are mind-blowing.
Recently during a drive along Washington State Route 7 south of Olympia, we found one such view at the Tanwax Country Chapel viewpoint near Eatonville. This viewpoint is from the chapel’s front yard, where passersby are welcome and encouraged to stop, sit on a bench, and enjoy the unobstructed view of Mount Rainier.
This is the view from that bench.

Here’s a different view from behind the chapel, where I found some beautiful trees in full fall color to frame my shots.

And here’s another beautiful tree in full color at the edge of the parking lot.

Tanwax Country Chapel’s address is 36417 Mountain Highway East, Eatonville, Washington. If you’re interested in attending the chapel’s services, check tanwaxcc.com for the latest schedule. The chapel also has a Facebook page.
