Update, December 3, 2020: Stream the recorded tree lighting ceremony here.
The City of Washougal, Washington, is hosting one virtual and one drive-through event this week to kick off the holiday season.
On Thursday, December 3, at 6 p.m., go to the city’s Facebook page to watch the tree lighting from Reflection Plaza in downtown Washougal. The program features duets by Washougal School District Superintendent Mary Templeton and community member Rod London. Santa joins Washougal Mayor Molly Coston and several special guests to light the 40-foot tree.
On Saturday, December 5, from 2 until 4 p.m., go to Reflection Plaza for the Ho Ho Holiday Drive-Thru. Wave at Santa from your car and receive a bag filled with holiday treats and an ornament you can decorate. Send a photo of your finished ornament to be featured on the city’s Facebook page. The city is also accepting donations of new, clean socks for their sock drive.
Masks are required at the Ho Ho Holiday Drive-Thru.
Reflection Plaza is on Pendleton Way between C and Main Streets.
The annual holiday parade has been cancelled this year because of the COVID pandemic.
