Before COVID hit, Santa’s Posse hosted a holiday gift-wrapping event every year to help needy families in Clark County. This year, the event has been cancelled. Instead, the posse is asking for people to drop off donations at a drive-through on Saturday, December 12, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Santa’s Posse is looking for new unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items, newer clothing items (socks, sweatshirts, and coats), gift cards, cash donations, or donations via PayPal.
The goal this year is to help 3,000 needy children in Clark County.
The drive-through is located at the Clark County Event Center at 17402 NE Delfel Road in Ridgefield, Washington.
Santa’s Posse, a partnership between the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and community sponsors, started in 1997 to help families in need during the holidays. During the first year, the organization helped 25 families. It’s now helping 12,00 families.
The posse also needs volunteers to deliver packages on Saturday, December 20.
