Leavenworth Chamber cancels Bavarian Ice Fest, but Village of Lights shines on

The Bavarian Ice Fest and fireworks in January is a favorite after-holiday celebration in the beautiful town of Leavenworth, in Central Washington. Sadly, the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce cancelled the 2021 event because of safety concerns from the continuing spread of COVID-19.

“Throughout the pandemic the Chamber has strategically evaluated our festivals, events, concerts and performances to align with the current Covid-19 status in our area and have canceled all of them out of precaution,” the chamber wrote in a statement on the Leavenworth, Washington website. “With the current Governor’s restrictions now being extended through January 11th, moving forward simply isn’t prudent.”

But there’s good news: The Village of Lights in downtown Leavenworth continues through Valentine’s Day, as usual.
