The Bavarian Ice Fest and fireworks in January is a favorite after-holiday celebration in the beautiful town of Leavenworth, in Central Washington. Sadly, the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce cancelled the 2021 event because of safety concerns from the continuing spread of COVID-19.
“Throughout the pandemic the Chamber has strategically evaluated our festivals, events, concerts and performances to align with the current Covid-19 status in our area and have canceled all of them out of precaution,” the chamber wrote in a statement on the Leavenworth, Washington website. “With the current Governor’s restrictions now being extended through January 11th, moving forward simply isn’t prudent.”
But there’s good news: The Village of Lights in downtown Leavenworth continues through Valentine’s Day, as usual.

What has happened to the May Fest?? Also the Autumn Leaf Festival?
Teri, I haven’t checked on those two events yet but will and post information as soon as I receive it. Thank you for asking!
Teri, I checked on these two festivals today. They’re both cancelled for 2021.
