The U.S. Forest will start requiring visitors to Multnomah Falls to purchase timed tickets online starting Tuesday, July 20, to reduce congestion at the falls and on Interstate 84, the main road to the parking lot.
Tickets are $1 per person and are available at recreation.gov. You’ll need to sign up for an account at recreation.gov to buy tickets.
If you take public transit to the falls, the ticket fee is waived.
- Board the Columbia Gorge Express at the Gateway Transit Center in Troutdale, Oregon.
- Take either the Gray Line Open-Air Waterfall Trolley or the Sasquatch Shuttle from parking lots in the Columbia River Gorge.
Multnomah Falls is 26 miles east of Portland.
