One of my favorite summer activities is strolling through the fields of beautiful flowers at Swan Island Dahlias. The fields are opening for the 2021 season on August 1 and will remain open through September. More than 40 acres of dahlias will be in bloom in a range of colors, shapes, and sizes.

For those who find walking through the fields challenging or just prefer a shorter stroll, Swan Island Dahlias also has a display garden with every variety of dahlia grown on the farm. Picnic tables are nearby, where you can bring a meal to enjoy while gazing over the fields. Outside food and drink are welcome, except for alcoholic beverages.

Fresh-cut dahlias are available for sale, as well as items with a flower theme in the gift shop.

Hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday-Tuesday. The farm is closed on Wednesday for maintenance.

Admission and parking are free. Photography is welcome. Drones are not allowed.

Dogs are allowed on a leash but are not recommended due to the large number of people who visit the fields.
