The Washougal Police Department and City of Washougal are hosting an ice cream social on Tuesday, August 3, 6-8 p.m., at Hathaway Park at their first National Night Out event. The event includes giveaways, safety demonstrations, and a selfie station.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign to make neighborhoods safer. The goal is to foster strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camraderie. On National Night Out, people are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights, and spend the evening outside getting to know their neighbors and local law enforcement.

Hathaway Park is located at 799 25th Street in Washougal, Washington.
