Come to downtown Vancouver, Washington, any first Friday to enjoy rotating art exhibits at the galleries, delicious food, live music, pop-up merchants, happy hour drinks, and activities for the kids. The monthly event is called First Friday Art Walk, which starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

Three new restaurants are open downtown, adding to the rich mix of cuisines already present there:

• Mav’s Taphouse at 108 West Evergreen Blvd.
• The Yard Milkshake Bar on Vancouver’s Waterfront at 656 Waterfront Way
• The Cove by Tidewater Cove Marina at 5731 SE Columbia Way
