Enjoy a New Year’s Eve dinner buffet by the resort’s new Executive Chef Daniel Dehay and his culinary services team. Three settings are scheduled at 5:30, 6:30, and 8 p.m. (make reservations online).
After dinner, watch the fireworks. This free show starts at 10:15 p.m.
There’s also a tween party with games, photo booth with props, a DJ, and snacks in the SnoBlaster Room on the second floor of the North Lodge, from 8:15 p.m. until 12:15 a.m.
If you’re 21 or older and want a livelier party, go to the Vertical on the top floor of the North Lodge from 8 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. for music, dancing, and a champagne toast. Counterfeit Hits, a five-piece cover band from Portland, will rock the crowd with hits from the seventies and beyond. Don’t miss the balloon drop at midnight. Pay the $10 cover charge at the door.
Looking for a place to spend the night? The Monarch Hotel at I-205 and Sunnyside Road, off the Clackamas Town Center exit, has a special $99 room rate and 1 p.m. late check-out for New Year’s Eve guests. The room rate is for single or double occupancy, and taxes are extra. Make a reservation for this discounted price by calling the Monarch at (800) 492-8700 and mentioning Mount Hood Meadows.
Instead of driving to Mount Hood Meadows, take the New Year’s Eve Party Bus from the Monarch Hotel to the resort. The bus leaves the Monarch Hotel at 3 p.m. New Year’s Eve and returns at 12:30 a.m. New Year’s Day. The cost is $25 per person (buy tickets). Anyone riding the bus under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
