Love a challenge? Brave winter’s cold to try your luck at ice fishing on Sidley and Molson Lakes near Molson, a ghost town in northcentral Washington. It’s happening at the 2018 Northwest Ice Fishing Festival on Saturday, January 13.
The competition runs 8 a.m.-3 p.m., and the grand prize is $1,000.
Other activities, all held in the Molson Grange Hall, include:
- Deluxe breakfast, 7-10:30 a.m.
- Arts and crafts show, all day
- Bingo, 1-3 p.m.
- Raffle prizes
The event is hosted by the Oroville Chamber of Commerce.
Molson is a 5.5-hour drive northeast of Seattle and 8.5 hours northeast of Portland.
