It’s a giant 10-day party February 16-25 throughout the City of Newport and Newport County, Rhode Island, with more than 150 events to choose from at the Newport Winter Festival. Dress in your coolest island shirts, shorts, and flip-flops to dance to the Margaritaville tunes from the Jimmy Buffet tribute band, Changes in Latitude. Grab a drink at the Polar Pineapples ice bar and watch the ice carving demonstrations.
Warm up at the chili cook-off, macaroni and cheese smackdown, and hot drink contest. Cheer for your favorite beach polo team. Stroll through the three-acre illuminated garden at Ballard Park. Laugh at the comedy show featuring Steve Sweeney and Marion Grodin.
For the children, there’s a princess party, teddy bear tea, live jazz for kids, a children’s fair, and BubbleMania.
On the last day of the festival, take a polar bear plunge and hunt for blocks at Easton’s Beach.
You’ll need a bracelet for admission, which costs $10 per person (buy here). Some activities require purchasing separate tickets, but you’ll get discounts with the bracelet.
