Every month from September through May, the Grants Pass branch of the Josephine Community Libraries host the Young Master Gardeners series. Kids learn about plants, gardening, and biology with fun hands-on activities. Josephine County Master Gardeners certified through Oregon State University lead these sessions.
The next session, “Are You a Good Weed or Bad Weed?”, dives into the world of edible plants. Children will learn which plants are edible. They’ll also learn which plants are native and invasive and why it’s important to know the difference.
All half-hour sessions are at the children’s library at the Grants Pass branch at 200 NW C Street (corner of Fifth and C). Pre-kindergarten sessions for children up to five years take place from 11:30 a.m. until noon. After-school sessions for children ages six and older are held at 3 to 3:45 p.m.
