Southwest Washington Wind Symphony celebrates spring in free concert

Enjoy a lively mix of dance, folk, and rodeo music Sunday, May 20, at The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony’s Spring Celebration concert. The program includes:

  • Hoedown from the ballet, Rodeo, scored by Aaron Copland
  • Irish Tune from County Derry, by Percy Grainger
  • Slava, by composer Leonard Bernstein

The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony, founded in 2005, is an all-volunteer group of mostly music educators. All concerts are free and open to the public. The symphony’s costs are funded 100% by donations.

The Spring Celebration concert starts at 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Union High School, 6201 NW Friberg-Strunk Street in Camas, Washington. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
