The Seattle Times reported today that Alaska and United Airlines have postponed offering flights from Paine Field in Everett, Washington. The new passenger terminal cannot be used until Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials sign off on a final environmental assessment. FAA employees are on furlough because of the government shutdown.
Alaska now plans to start flights on Monday, March 4, followed by United on Sunday, March 31. Further delays on the government reopening could postpone these dates again.
