The Vancouver Farmers Market opens for its 30th season on Saturday, March 16, in a slightly different location, The Columbian newspaper reported today. It’s still across the street from Esther Short Park, except the booths are relocating from West Sixth Street to West Eighth Street in downtown Vancouver, Washington.
The City of Vancouver requested the change because of concerns that the market’s current location would block access to the new Vancouver Waterfront Park. Several construction projects in the same area at the same time could cause more problems, so moving the market was the best solution.
The 2019 Vancouver Farmers Market will be open weekends from March 16 through October 27. Hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.
