Great-Washington-Camp-in

The campgrounds are closed because of COVID-19, but that doesn’t need to stop you from camping out. “How’s that possible?” you’re probably asking. Well, Washington State Parks has the answer: The Great Washington Camp-In, which is tonight at 6:30 p.m. Pacific time.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Set up a tent in your home or yard.
  2. Cuddle up in your sleeping bag.
  3. At 6:30 p.m., go to the Washington State Park’s YouTube page.
  4. Enjoy the show!

Activities include a celebrity chef sharing her favorite camp-in recipes. live music, an Appalachian flatfooting demonstration, poetry reading, and park interpreters talking about Whidbey Island’s Fort Casey Historical State Park and Sun Lakes State Park in Eastern Washington.

Also enter the camp-in photo contest. The best camp-in setup photo receives a $75 gift certificate from REI. The winner will be announced at the end of tonight’s camp-in. View the rules and enter.
