The first edition of The Great Washington Camp-In was so popular that the Washington State Parks Foundation is hosting another one tonight. Here’s how it works:
- Create some tasty treats for your camp-in adventure (optional). Get inspired with these recipes from Chef Kathy Casey.
- Set up a tent in your home or yard.
- Cuddle up in your sleeping bag or stretch out on a blanket.
- At 6:20 p.m. Pacific time, go to the Washington State Park’s YouTube page.
- Enjoy the show!
Tonight’s activities include songs around the campfire with Johnny Bregar, shadowgraphy with Louie Foxx, another Appalachian flatfooting demonstration with Charmaine Slaven, a talk about orcas from with Jeff Hogan from Killer Whale Tales, and park interpreters talking about the Mt. St. Helens eruption and Gingko Petrified Forest State Park in Vantage.
Also enter the camp-in photo contest. Prizes for the best camp setup include $75 gift cards from REI, Washington Discover Passes and guidebooks, and a HERO portable grill and other goodies from OutdoorsNW. Some winners will be announced at the end of tonight’s camp-in and the rest after the contest ends on Sunday, May 3. View the rules and enter.
