For the first time in the show’s history, the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes has been cancelled in New York City due to the ongoing concerns with the coronavirus. All tickets for 2020 will be refunded, according to a statement on the Rockettes’ website.

Tickets are on sale now for the 2021 holiday season.

Russell Markert founded the 80-member, high-kicking chorus line in 1925. His inspiration came from the Tiller Girls, a dance troupe in England.

More than 75 million people have seen the Rockettes on stage since the Christmas Spectacular began in 1933. During the holiday season, each Rockette may perform as many as four shows a day and kick up to 650 times.
