The Oregon Truffle Festival, one of the most popular winter events in the Willamette Valley, is moving online this year because of travel restrictions and continuing safety concerns for large gatherings from COVID-19. The date and details for the virtual event haven’t been finalized yet. In the meantime, you can learn more about truffles and watch a video on how dogs sniff out these delicacies in Oregon’s forests at oregontrufflefestival.org.
This festival celebrates the white truffle commonly found in western Oregon and the valley’s wines. Western Oregon, France, and Italy are the only places in the world where truffles grow.
Watch the website listed above for updates about the festival. You can also sign up for the festival’s emails, where you’ll receive direct notifications about the festival when they’re available.
