What’s Africa really like? Take a look through Africans’ views through a series of films at the 31st annual Cascade Festival, hosted by Portland Community College. The festival starts Friday, February 5, and ends Wednesday, March 10.
The films show the Africa’s successes, failures, and possibilities. “Although the films cannot represent an entire continent, we hope to encourage American viewers to become interested in and study African cultures,” reads a statement on the festival’s home page.
The festival is free, and all films are available on the festival’s website this year. Go to africanfilmfestival.org for more information.
