For the first 49 years of its existence, the Oregon Country Fair drew thousands of people to a large field west of Eugene to enjoy live entertainment, food, and crafts. Last year, the fair celebrated its 50th anniversary by moving online due to the COVID panedmic. Fair organizers have decided to go virtual again for 2021 for the same reason.
A statement on the fair’s website reads, “We are excited to announce that OCF will be presenting Fair in the Clouds: A Virtual Event from July 9, 10 & 11, 2021. Please join us for 3 days of Fair magic and a long-awaited opportunity to gather, albeit virtually, as a community! Due to the continued public health risk presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be hosting our traditional large in-person event this summer, but look forward to seeing you in the virtual clouds – and at future Fair programs!”
The program hasn’t been announced yet. For updates and to buy tickets when they go on sale, visit oregoncountryfair.org.
