April 24 is Independent Bookstore Day. This year, Seattle is taking the celebration further because of continued restricitons from the coronavirus pandemic. It’s a 10-day challenge to encourage readers to support independent bookstores.

To participate, print out this bookstore passport. Then from Saturday, April 24, through Monday, May 3, buy at least one book each day at 10 different participating bookstores (see the list at the bottom of this page), either in person or online, to receive a limited edition Seattle Indie Bookstore Day 2021 tote bag. Save your receipts for each purchase.

All entries must be emailed or postmarked by Saturday, May 15.

When you’re finished, either mail your passport and receipts to Open Books, 2414 North 45th St, Seattle, WA 98103, or submit them online at form.jotform.com/210945553072050. If you mail your passports and receipts, keep copies.
