Earlier this year, it wasn’t certain whether the July 4th Spectacular would be held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A virtual version was held last year. But this year, there’s a live event with activities on opposite sides of Massachusetts.

On Sunday, July 4, Keith Lockhart will conduct the Boston Pops from the Koussevitzky Music Shed’s stage at Tanglewood in Lenox from approximately 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. Then from approximately 10:30 until 11 p.m., a live fireworks display will be televised from the Boston Common.

The concert and fireworks shows will be broadcast on Bloomberg TV and Radio and WHDH-TV Channel 7 in Boston.

No fireworks show will be held at Tanglewood.
